Domestic GlazingAluminium and Steel Front Doors

Doors To Be Proud Of

Your front door doesn’t have to be an off-the-shelf product chosen at the end of the project.

From clean, fully glazed aluminium doors to large contemporary panel doors, we can create an entrance that works with the architecture of your home.

Simple or statement. Glass or solid. Standard proportions or something much larger.

Contemporary Panel Or Glazed Aluminium Doors

Some homeowners want a large contemporary panel door with minimal detailing and an oversized pull handle.

Others prefer the simplicity of a framed aluminium door with a large area of glass.

Both can look exceptional. That doesn’t mean bigger is always better. Sometimes a beautifully proportioned glazed door is exactly right. On another property, an oversized panel door can become one of the defining architectural features of the house.

We aren’t tied to one entrance-door system, so we can recommend the style and specification that best suits your home, priorities and budget. We’ll help you decide what works.

Security Without Compromising The Design

A front door needs to look good, but first and foremost it needs to secure your home.

Our aluminium entrance doors can combine strong aluminium construction, multipoint locking and high-security specifications with excellent thermal performance and contemporary design.

Smart and fingerprint access can also be incorporated where required, giving you keyless entry without turning your front door into a gadget.

Designed Around The Complete Entrance

The door is only part of the picture.

Sidelights, toplights, glazing, handles, thresholds, colours and surrounding finishes all influence how the completed entrance looks.

We consider the complete opening rather than treating the door as an isolated product.

Most of our aluminium front doors are built on Schüco or Cortizo systems.

Discuss Your Entrance Door

Whether you know exactly what you want or simply have an image of a door you like, send it to us.

We’ll explain what’s possible and recommend an aluminium front door we genuinely believe will suit your home.

You can see the Schüco entrance door on our Ilkley project in our case studies.

Aluminium and Steel Front Doors Frequently Asked Questions

Still Have Questions?

Ask us. We would rather answer them properly before you order than have you find out after.

Aluminium doors give you thermally broken frames, a wide colour range and very low maintenance. Steel gives the finest sightlines and a distinctive character that suits both period and contemporary properties. We make and fit both, so the recommendation follows the door that suits your home, not the one we happen to sell.

Very, when specified properly. Our doors combine an inherently strong frame with multipoint locking and toughened or laminated glass. Security is decided at specification, not at installation, so we talk through the exposure of the entrance and the glass and locking options before anything is ordered.

Doors are made to measure up to 1400 mm wide and 3000 mm high, which covers bold, oversized entrances as well as standard openings. Frames are powder coated in any RAL or British Standard colour, with dual colour available so the inside face can differ from the outside.

Once you order, your contract manager arranges a site survey to confirm the manufacturing sizes, and we give you an approximate installation date when the project is signed off. Lead times depend on the system, colour and glass specification, and we will be straight with you about them at quote stage rather than promise a date we cannot hold.

Our Process

Good glazing starts with good decisions.

Every glazing project is different, but the way we approach them is consistent. Our process is designed to make the important decisions early, when they are easier and less expensive to resolve.

We specify aluminium systems that best suit the building, the budget and the long-term expectations for the project.

01

1. Initial Conversation

Tell us about your project. Whether you have drawings, planning approval or simply an idea, we’ll listen first and ask the questions that need answering before recommending anything. If you’re a new client, we recommend visiting our factory early on to meet the team and see how we work.

02

2. Quote & Cost Options

Using the information you’ve provided, together with any drawings, we’ll prepare a detailed quotation clearly setting out what’s included and any exclusions. Unless a particular system has already been specified, we’ll recommend the one we believe best suits the project’s design, performance requirements and budget.

03

3. Order & Site Survey

Once an order has been placed, we’ll arrange a site survey. Our surveyors establish datums, measure structural openings and confirm the agreed details. We’ll also work with your builder or contractor to resolve any outstanding issues before manufacture begins. Access, logistics and installation considerations are assessed at this stage, helping prevent expensive problems later.

04

4. Drawings

We’ll produce a full set of working drawings for approval. These incorporate the agreed survey details and, where required, reference site datums so structural elements provided by others are clearly identified and dimensioned.

05

5. Procurement & Manufacture

Once the drawings have been approved, we’ll procure the materials and begin manufacture. We’ll then confirm the expected installation date to suit your construction programme.

06

6. Professional Installation

Before installation begins, we prepare site-specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Lift Plans where required. Our experienced installation teams carry out the work safely and in accordance with the approved drawings. We don’t rush work simply to move on to the next job.

07

7. Completion & Aftercare

Once installation is complete, we’ll inspect the finished work, make sure you’re happy with the result and remain available if you need us afterwards. Where applicable, operation and maintenance manuals will also be provided.

Peter Guilbert 5 ★

We wanted something a bit special – big slim-framed sliders, a glazed roof and frameless balustrades. AGS talked us through Schuco and Cortizo options and gave sensible advice on budget. The end result is amazing; loads of light, everything feels really solid and the neighbours keep asking who did it
